California Adventures!

As all of you know Blair had to go to school in California for 5 weeks. Well he started missing us and we started missing him so we all decided that the kids and I would fly down there and spend a week with him as soon as his school was done. So I booked the tickets and the next week we were off. We got on the plane at 7:00 am and let me tell you I sure wish that I would have brought Presley's car seat on the plane with us. In about two seconds she had the seat belt figured out and kept standing up on the seat to tell the little Chinese girl behind us Hi. "the little girl just looked at her." After about an two minutes in the plane Mckayden and Presley were already watching Sponge Bob. Mind you that they didn't have any sound, but that didn't stop them. Presley really didn't like sitting still and I think that the flight attendants knew it because they got the drinks and cookies right out. After the kids had finished Presley decided that shereally didn't want to fall asleep any where but my arms. So I let her she slept all through the landing and nobody seemed to mind that she was not in her seat belt. " I think that they were just happy that she shut up." We got off the plane and got our stuff. I really don't recommend that you fly with two kids and be pregnant, and not check your luggage. It was really hard. Any way, Steve and Blair was there to pick us up and go to Tustin, where we would be staying. The rest of the day was great. After getting a nice nap in, we went for a swim in Steve and Vickie's "Blair's cousin's" The Next morning was another early one because we had to go all the way back to where Blair had been going to school. He took us on a small tour of his barracks, and of where all the WWII tanks are.
Tuesday we took the kids to see the ocean and play on the beach for there first time. We all had a blast. We build sand castles and as fast as we did a little blond Godzilla could crush them down.
I am pretty sure that Blair had forgotten how cold the water was and nobody thought to tell McKayden. That night we went to Disneyland and had a great time watching Fantasmic. We rode the Winnie the Pooh ride about seven times and then a few more different rides.
Wednesday the Hollingshead family went to California adventure with us all day. Until the kids started to get tired and hungry. Well the little ones anyway. Josh and McKayden wanted to stay forever. Where as the two prego's just wanted to get out of the heat. Later that night just our family went back to Disneyland to ride a few more rides and to watch the firework show.
Thursday was the last day at the Hollingshead house so we let the kids play until nap time and then we set off to Las Vegas. After a very tiring 6 plus hours in the car we got to our hotel at the Stratosphere Tower. If you are ever going to go to Vegas make sure you go and stay on a week day you can get a suite very cheep!! The kids went crazy over the room that we got. It was 18 floors up and had a strip view. Not to mention a tub that could have fit our whole family. McKayden called it a hot tub and Presley called it her swimming pool.
That night we went to the Excalibur to eat and show the kids around a little. We found a great Arcade/Midway and the kids played games and won tickets and prizes. We went back to our hotel and went up to the tower which is about 1,150 feet up in the air. I was a bit bummed because I really wanted to go on the rides but I didn't think that would have been a very good idea. I don't think Blair thought twice about going on them. So we just took in the view.
The next morning the kids went "swimming" in a bubble bath, and had a great time.
So after the bath a good breakfast and a long drive we made it home safe and sound.
